"The Detroit Masonic Temple is the largest of its kind in the world. Boasting 1,037 rooms, the roof is almost two acres in size, 1, 620,000 cubic feet of earth was removed for its foundation and almost four million bricks were used, making this building very impressive. The Masonic website states, ?the first mortar was spread with the same trowel that our first president used in the corner stone laying of the National Capitol.? Make sure to check out their website for more history and photos of the building. The building was a huge endeavor and it is said that the financer jumped off the roof after going bankrupt form building costs. It has been reported that doors open on the roof after they have been shut and night patrolmen have seen the apparition of a man. Could it be the ghost of the financer?
