It is believed that Paul Malin, owner of the Malin Pool and Sample Room during the 1890's appears to new owners. In 1907 one owner confided that Malin appeared to him and ran "amok" keeping him awake each night. This is believed to be the case with each new owner since Malin's death in 1901. The building has changed hands several times over the years. The pub has had many identities over the years - Union Saloon; Bodega Restaurant; and now the Bodega Brew Pub.
