| Description: |
|
At least two ghosts haunt this location. Built in 1898 during the Gold Rush.
One spirit has been nicknamed Mary. It is believed she is the spirit of a young woman who died of pneumonia in her room while waiting for her fiance to return from gold-prospecting. She is frequently seen and felt in room 23. She has been seen in the room and many have felt a choking sensation while trying to sleep. Room 14 is visited by a strange light form that moves in and around the room at night. The cause of this is unknown. In 1907 the Golden North Hotel was moved from its previous location to Skagway by a horse and capstan. It is not known if the hauntings could be attributed to events prior to the move or after. |
