Description:
Alcatraz claimed its first victims in 1857 when a crew excavating a roadway accidentally buried two men: Daniel Pewter, 50 of Ireland; and Jacob Unger, 25 of Germany.

The facility was to be a home for military fortress. It's need to be a fortress would soon disappear as in 1861 it received its first prisoners from the Spanish American. Then in 1906 many civilians were moved there during the earthquake for safe housing.

In 1934 it became a federal prison and would house those that society deemed the most despicable and deadliest criminals. The goal of the prison was to instill a deep rooted fear in all the prisoners thus making them model prisoners.

Fear came easy in Alcatraz. In the early 1800's there was a ghostly presence with red eyes in Cells 9-14D appropriately thought of as The Hole. A prisoner was thrust in the room, naked and beaten. Within moments he screamed insanely, begging and pleading. This apparently was a source of great amusement for the guards as they did not respond. The next morning the inmate was found with a horrifying expression on his face and handprints that left marks around his throat.

The laundry room is the site of at least one murder.

In May 1946 Bernard Coy, Joe Cretzer, and Marvin Hubbard attempted a coup of the prison with the aid of other inmates. Leaving 18 officers injured, and officers William Miller and Harold Stites dead the three convicts made a stand at Cell Block C utility door where they were shot down. This is a site of high activity and energy.

It is 2nd only to Cell Block D - The Hole where countless men were left and tortured by guards, beaten and broken left in solitary confinement not for days or months but for years. Sensory deprivation was implemented here as a punishment.

Wardens house, hospital, laundry room, Cell Blcok C Utility Door, and The Hole have the highest activity.

One can hear the banjo - practiced by Al Capone; Abie Maldowitz the inmate killed in the laundry room energy is present as a dark violent spirit; chocking smoke, phantom cannon shots, gun shots, screaming, moans, sobs, clanging of metal are just a few sounds you'll hear.

Many recall seeing the old lighthouse appear with its green light warning ships that might be coming in through the thick fog - however, the lighthouse had not been working for decades! Prisoners that had died were counted in roll calls shortly after their deaths. The red eyed demon ghost has been seen by many prisoners and those guard foolhardy enough to step in the Hole alone, in the dark.

Many psychics and mediums have visited all collaborating one another as well as facts that were not reported or known to the public.

This was also the site of the Native American Occupation the 1960's where at least one child died on the stairs in the prison.
