Description:
The building was erected in 1795 by Christopher Layman. It is believed that the farm house is haunted by as many as eleven ghosts.

The most active spirit has been named George who haunts the third-floor bedroom. He seems to have a profound hatred of women and becomes very vilent toward them whenever they enter his domain. Women have reported being shoved, strangled, knifed and even raped. Visitors of the museum have reported various encounters with a vicious and physical entity.

A lady in brown dressed in 1700's style dress has been seen running up and down the staircase.

An apparition of a very stout woman dressed in an antebelum gown has been seen on the staircase and kitchen.

A man with long dark blond hair, wearing a blue jacket was een near a front room window.

A man wearing short pants and stockings has been seen in the kitchen.

A small boy believed to be Joey has been seen running up and down the 3rd floor hallway along with a little black boy as well.

Christopher Layman has been seen within the walls of the building as well.

Other entities have been seen as well. In the 1930's the house became a bordello and then an auto shop. The National Park Service obtained the house in 1950 and has done an excellent job restoring it. (haunted-places.com)
